Fla­menco gui­tarist Joaquin Gal­le­gos brings a five-piece ensem­ble to Sky­light (139 W. San Fran­cisco St., 505-982-0775) at 8 p.m. on Fri­day, June 26, to celebrate the re­lease of his sec­ond stu­dio al­bum, Nuevos Comien­zos. The CD fea­tures a se­lec­tion of lovely melodies as well as Gal­le­gos’ light­ning-fast strum­ming and fin­ger­pick­ing. Among the 17 guest mu­si­cians on the disc are per­cus­sion­ists Fran­cisco Javier Orozco, Robby Roth­schild, and Javi Ktumba Mera Ro­driguez; and pi­anist Alex Conde. Gal­le­gos, a Santa Fe na­tive, has been play­ing guitar since age nine. He stud­ied for years in An­dalu­sia and learned de­tails of ac­com­pa­ni­ment while liv­ing with Gyp­sies in Granada.
