Guera: a staged reading
Women’s International Study Center (WISC) presents a staged reading of Guera at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 26, at Teatro Paraguas Studio (3205 Calle Marie). Guera, set in a Mexican restaurant, is a theatrical work-in-progress by Lisandra Tena and produced by Nan Elsasser about growing up in Albuquerque with a mother who is an addict and a father who is trying to do his best. The reading is the culmination of a two-week residential WISC fellowship. Tena performs scenes from the play and then Elsasser joins her for a conversation with the audience. Admission is free.
