Americana to the core: The Appleseed Collective

The Appleseed Collective is the latest in an influx of great bands playing in Santa Fe. If you haven’t yet left your house to dance at any of the many local musical venues this summer, get to this concert at 8 p.m. at Santa Fe Sol Stage and Grill (37 Fire Place) on Wednesday, Aug. 12. With serious musicianship and no-frills showmanship, the Appleseed Collective, from Ann Arbor, Michigan, plays a magnificent amalgam of Gypsy jazz, funk, bluegrass, western swing, and its own twist on Americana that is just flat-out better than most old-timey roots revival bands.
