Axle Con­tem­po­rary, 505-670-5854; 505-670-7612 The term “ready­made” was coined by artist Mar­cel Duchamp in 1916 to de­scribe a se­ries of his works based on found ob­jects. A cen­tury later, Axle hon­ors Duchamp’s con­cept in The Ready­made: 100 Years, a group ex­hi­bi­tion that in­cludes pieces by sculp­tor Chris Collins, new me­dia artists Su­sanna Carlisle and Bruce Hamil­ton, and as­sem Ready­mades blage artist Dana New­mann, among oth­ers. by 25 artists are in­cluded in the ex­hibit, along with state thoughts ments from each artist about their work and their on the ready­made as an art form. The show opens Fri­day, May 13, with a 5 p.m. reception at the shade struc­ture of the Santa Fe Farm­ers Mar­ket in the Rai­l­yard.
