Star Codes

LET’S GET THINGS DONE THIS WEEK. Take action with ability and compassion. By the end of the week, we get a chance to back away from the rich emotional roller coaster we’ve been on these last few weeks as Venus, the sun, and Mercury all oppose Pluto. The sun joins Venus and Mercury in extroverted Leo next Friday and calls us to have a romance, engage our creativity, or create operatic public demonstrations. We’ll be able to more fully enjoy the summer’s bounty even as we stay on track with urgent work.

To help us get that work done, the aspects this week encourage industrious competence, but we need to know where to apply it. We may have to face some reality about our ambiguities or inner conflicts around our work on Tuesday — with its full moon — as the sun in nurturing, self-protective Cancer opposes the hard-working Capricorn moon.

This full moon calls us to bust any illusion that we have to choose between self-care and work, between nurturing ourselves or nurturing others, and between our spiritual life and our mundane existence. These are all parts of an inextricable whole, which we need to weave together to create a sand-painting mandala of our life — a balanced whole.

As the weekend begins, Mars forms an energizing if temper-spiking quincunx with Uranus, a fast-moving but irritating aspect that can inflame mechanical issues and old injuries as well as familiar resentments. Over the weekend, the moon enters the truth-speaking sign of Sagittarius and gets us out of the house and to the lake, woods, and streets.

Mercury and Venus trine pragmatic Saturn early next week and help us make practical decisions. If we’ve got a major summer project, now is the time to tackle it, or at least lay out the plans.

FRIDAY, JULY 15: We talk, work, and travel with ease as the moon trines Mercury and Venus — unless we hit an old injury or anger. Stay solutionoriented. Encourage refreshing honesty and a light touch.

SATURDAY, JULY 16: One energetic thread brings a spirit of compromise, agreement, gratitude, and connection as Mercury conjuncts poetic Venus. However, this mingles with an irritating sun-Uranus square, which can make us restless. We could make a surprise direction change in response to fresh information.

SUNDAY, JULY 17: Let’s tell our stories and listen to theirs. Sharing our hopes and fears can be deeply healing as Mars trines Chiron. Monday, July 18: Watch a tendency toward depression as the moon conjuncts Pluto. Acceptance is very different than feeling like there’s nothing we can do. Don’t give up. Look for the key piece that needs doing and sharing.

TUESDAY, JULY 19: Mercury trines Saturn, which can help us make good decisions and keep our thoughts serious and on track, but can also bring out a controlling streak. Balance self-care and responsibilities around this full moon. WEDNESDAY, JULY 20: We need to lean on those we can rely on as Venus trines stabilizing Saturn this morning. Some social tension or confusion complicates the late afternoon as the moon opposes Venus and Mercury. Give everyone extra attention, and they can be more helpful to the whole. THURSDAY, JULY 21: It can be frustrating when people stand on their philosophies, using their opinions to distance themselves from turbulent emotional realities. Accept where they are, and push only where necessary; processes already in motion now need patience.
