THE WEEKEND BEGINS with an exciting, if contentious, interaction between the sun and moon, both in Mars-ruled signs on Friday. If all goes well, we’ll just have extra energy; if we get crosswise with one another, we can say things we’ll regret.

We may feel inspired to work together, but may be so ready to wrangle about our philosophies that it’s challenging: Feisty Mars is now in collective, theoretical Aquarius. Venus enters determined Capricorn on Saturday and encourages us to reconnect with old friends or communities. Together they can help us, loaded with opinions as we may be, to organize and build new working partnerships. With Venus in Capricorn for the next few weeks, we may want to love our work even though we feel emotionally constrained by it.

Mercury enters outspoken Sagittarius Saturday night, encouraging us to be honest, shoot from the hip, and tell it like we really see it for the next few weeks. This freedom-loving Sagittarius Mercury can help us see a bigger picture and balance out an intense Scorpio possessiveness — a territorial edge that helps us defend our water rights and relationships — that peaks early next week under an earthy Taurus full moon.

The astrological energy settles into a more determined groove after Monday’s full moon and encourages us to work toward our long-term goals. We may feel a bit fuzzyheaded toward the end of the week as Mercury squares Neptune.

FRIDAY, NOV. 11: The mood gets twitchy if our to-do list is too long; politics inflames tempers. Maintain healthy boundaries rather than bite back. Deal with one issue at a time, and don’t pile too much on the plate this afternoon. Recenter and prioritize tonight as Venus enters Capricorn. SATURDAY, NOV. 12: Mercury enters Sagittarius this morning and brings fresh honesty. After an unsettling or busy morning, our energy manifests in sporadic bursts. Focus returns after the waxing moon enters earthy Taurus this evening. It can feel good to be embodied: Feed the senses but keep clean boundaries. SUNDAY, NOV. 13: A stubborn full moon in Taurus this morning ramps up all our biological needs and desires and our stubbornness — but it can also help us plant our roots and appreciate the patch of earth on which we live. Enjoy a slow dance midday, a meditative spinning in place. MONDAY, NOV. 14: We may be busy but still have trouble accomplishing anything. Our minds are nervy or energized, while our bodies feel the post-full-moon energy drain. Action picks up and the conversation gains traction tonight as the moon enters Gemini. TUESDAY, NOV. 15: Let’s go exploring but pace ourselves. Prepare for a shift in the plot line or odd twists of fate. Juggle the shifting bits and don’t lose track of what’s important. Spirit is strong, but organization may be weak. Afternoon brings clearer decisions and engaged conversation, though we can be easily distracted as Mercury sextiles Mars.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 16: Morning is busy, though it still brings more words than action. Old memories arise and distract us, while unfinished wisps of karma target us. Track carefully if a specific project needs to be accomplished. Tonight, we need to return to something cozy and familiar as the moon enters Cancer.

THURSDAY, NOV. 17: Don’t be surprised by moments of social awkwardness as the Cancer moon opposes Venus; our inner determination or discomfort can make us less diplomatic. Check for misunderstandings before feelings get hurt.
