THE ENERGY THIS WEEK is competent and forthright but also an emotional roller coaster. Feelings are raw as Venus conjuncts Pluto, tactlessness abounds with verbal Mercury in outspoken Sagittarius, and our competitive streak is strong as feisty Mars trines expansive Jupiter at the end of the week.

Venus conjuncts Pluto the day after Thanksgiving, and we are made aware of how hard it is to love in the face of loss, be it political or personal. Loss, oppression, empowerment, and rebirth are all aspects of Pluto — and we can choose which one we tune into with our Venusian hearts.

Thanksgiving weekend activates the annual Sagittarian family miniseries abounding with the breakthroughs and difficulties that are created when people speak their minds; with gentle honesty, we can get down to a place of true gratitude. Feelings are tender, opinions are entrenched, and hope is oxygen. Let’s think carefully about our goals if we’re dealing with friends and relatives.

As Mercury pulls away from a conjunction to Saturn over the next week, we still have astrological support to be efficient and can feel a sense of urgency about our work or community involvement.

The moon heads to sharp-edged Scorpio for the weekend; everyone will need some time alone in their own corners. If poked, people may reach out and sting. On Monday morning, let everyone catch up on emails and get oriented, and then begin to reconnect in the afternoon.

Tuesday starts a fresh chapter with an energizing new moon in Sagittarius. We crave difference and travel and want to feel hopeful about the future: It’s time to launch new plans and keep the conversation going. As the sun squares confusing Neptune later in the week, we can understand what’s happening today very clearly; the future, though, is murky. The best way to build the future is to work here in the present, one foot in front of the other.

FRIDAY, NOV. 25: The Libra moon helps us get along, but we can feel a weight on our souls as Venus conjuncts Pluto. We need to find a way to love no matter what. Large waves of emotion swell up and down, but we can choose where we steer the ship of our heart.

SATURDAY, NOV. 26: The moon enters a solitary Scorpio, and conversation grows more pointed. Mercury trines Uranus and sharpens debate. Focus on solving problems rather than defining difference.

SUNDAY, NOV. 27: Morning can be irritable as the moon squares Mars; we may differ on priorities and need to trust one another to find our way. Afternoon offers more warmth and acceptance.

MONDAY, NOV. 28: Give people a chance to return from their “vacationmind.” After a wandering morning, we grow restless and want to accomplish something as the moon enters Sagittarius in the afternoon. Reconnect today; initiate tomorrow.

TUESDAY, NOV. 29: Start a new chapter under this morning’s new moon. Creative Venus trines Uranus and inspires us to shift gears and change everything. Don’t throw out what’s working; instead, turn this restlessness toward what’s not. Bond over travel stories and a ruthlessly honest sense of humor. WEDNESDAY, NOV. 30: Get to know a stranger. People are open to new possibilities and crave information from the outside world but can project their hopes and fears onto one another. Rein in projection and confirm facts; do personal homework first. THURSDAY, DEC. 1: Get back to work as the moon enters ambitious Capricorn and feisty Mars trines expansive Jupiter. Keep an eye on the big picture. Decisions will be made; let’s stay involved.
