STAR CODES

FEEL THAT URGE TO SPRINGCLEAN the mind, body, and politics. The planets remind us that something must go — whether it’s a favorite chair, a plan, or an illusion about our self or country when it no longer fits in the new reality. The most nurturing thing we can do for our life is release clutter of all types and make space for what’s real and needed now. Create room, because Monday’s new moon in Aries seeds a whole new astrological year.

The stars are not asking us to release a deep part of our moral code to fit in safely, even if we feel pressured to do so — nudged by this week’s planetary willfulness, which is created as Mercury conjuncts electrical chaotic Uranus, opposes expansive Jupiter, and squares intense Pluto. A place of resolution is found in Cancer. We need to step out of conflict, either inside ourselves or with others, by investigating what will nurture us in the long run.

Our emotions stay strong and reactive throughout the week as Venus retrogrades and conjuncts the sun in direct, urgent Aries. Although we may be low on patience, our hearts can burst with love at the oddest moments. Venus retrograde encourages us to look at whether our actions are in line with our values. Let’s just be careful what we set in motion.

FRIDAY, MARCH 24: We should watch what we say as Mercury opposes Jupiter this morning. Camaraderie helps us respond to recent changes tonight.

SATURDAY, MARCH 25: Our vulnerability and bravery tug us in opposite directions as the moon enters sensitive Pisces and the sun conjuncts emotional Venus. It stabilizes us to create and express beauty.

SUNDAY, MARCH 26: It’s all too easy to change our minds as mental Mercury conjuncts Uranus. We have access to unusual flashes of brilliance and mechanical genius but also of craziness. Our minds buzz if we become too ungrounded. This can help release obsessions, but if we are suddenly inspired to move to Madagascar, we should run a feasibility study and wait a week before going.

MONDAY, MARCH 27: Clear the decks as the moon wanes toward a new moon in Aries at 8:57 p.m. Don’t get fed up — review and deal with old problems and pains from last year’s cycle. Give this reactive energy a healthy place to go.

TUESDAY, MARCH 28: The mood is feisty, hasty, and forthright. We are seriously not interested in being told what to do. Look for new leads. If energy starts and stops like the hare racing the tortoise, rest and leap again. Create opportunities for one another.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 29: We’re still feeling a cussedly independent streak this morning, and we may need to get something off our chests as the moon conjuncts Mercury. The general mood becomes calm as the moon enters earthy Taurus midday, though our capacity to worry increases. Give imagination a practical outlet and look for the truth underneath anxiety. Let’s be willing to ask ourselves and others tough questions and cherish the truth. Confirm all facts before tweeting.

THURSDAY, MARCH 30: Watch for brewing conflict around material things as the Taurus moon conjuncts Mars midday. We may need to express major political or strategic frustrations as Jupiter squares Pluto — ideas clash on what constitutes freedom. Afternoon mellows as a desire for comfort helps us reconnect, but remember and follow up on earlier concerns.
