Daniel Sprick: Nefertiti 2015, oil on board
Peters Projects, 1011 Paseo de Peralta, 505-954-5800 The atmospheric, enigmatic paintings of contemporary artist Daniel Sprick are rendered in hyperrealist detail in compositions that recall the works of Dutch and Flemish masters. An exhibit of recent paintings by Sprick opens on Friday, March 24, and runs concurrently with Angela Fraleigh: The Breezes at Dawn Have Secrets to Tell, an exhibit of the mixedmedia artist’s reinterpretation of classical, Baroque, and Rococo figures in works that explore themes of gender, sexuality, and femininity. The reception for both shows is at 5 p.m.
