David Richard Gallery, 1570-A1 Pacheco St., 505-983-9555 The solo exhibition of John Vokoun’s mixed-media work Horizons/Structures is the result of his monthlong National Parks Arts Foundation residency at Chaco Canyon. Trained as a Color Field painter, Vokoun uses corrupted computer data files to design his compositions, which are painted on laser-cut panels. He is interested in the effects of the Information Age on society, and he is influenced by the theories of artist Johannes Itten, psychologist Carl Jung, and mathematicians Henri Poincaré and Benoit Mandlebrot. Horizons/Structures opens with a 5 p.m. reception on Friday, April 7.
