Shirley Baskin Familian: Square One 1994, wooden cube, canceled stamps

Lucky Strike: A Fresh Approach to Form and Color, a show of works by Ruben Aguirre, Howard Sherman, and Michael Cutlip, has a 5 p.m. reception on Friday, June 2. Shirley Baskin Familian, a longtime stamp collector, spent more than a decade working with mosaic tile design before taking her interest in patterns and colors in another direction, when she began collaging her canceled stamps to everyday objects and flat designs. An exhibition of her work opens on Saturday, June 3, at 4 p.m.
