Star Codes

- Heather Roan Robbins

AUTUMN COMMENCES as the sun enters Libra on Friday. The equinox invites us to create more balance in our lives and in our culture, encouraging all good things to flow. Along with this Libran call to equilibrium, Mercury, Mars, and Venus in industrious Virgo push us to accomplish things. Mercury now conjuncts Mars for weeks, building momentum but keeping the winds and rhetoric roaring. Our minds can buzz over concerns late into the night with Virgo’s nervy activity.

This is where Libra’s call to balance can help us. The busier or more worried we might get, the more important it is to maintain a good worklife ratio. Libran hope in the system of balanced justice provides social stability, and the lack of it tests our very fiber.

As the weekend begins, we can feel autumn’s haunting melancholia drift in as the moon enters moody Scorpio while the sun enters Libra. Underneath a contemplative, occasionally sullen or competitive weekend is a muscular energy that needs a good place to go. We’ll be able to work well with others in an emergency and respond well to difficult situations, but we can get cranky if we don’t get time alone. On Sunday, a Mars-Neptune opposition encourages us to let go of some old resentments and reassess what it is we really want. It also stirs up the waters. Let’s watch where we put our water glasses and keep an eye on turbulent storm patterns.

On Monday morning, a Sagittarius moon calls us outdoors. Mercury squares Saturn, which can bring a pile of work as well as the fortitude to see it through. On Thursday, Pluto turns direct after a long retrograde, which creates turbulence around power dynamics and stirs our worst fears, but also helps us find resolution in the weeks to come.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 22: Deal with light social contacts and details early in the day. Focus is sharpened and tails begin to twitch as the moon enters Scorpio midday. The equinox encourages our sense of magic and opportunity tonight.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 23: The mood is competitive, desirous, focused, and willful. It feels good to be in our bodies, to work or play hard, and to put our competitive instincts to good use as Mars semisquares Jupiter. Find a balance between the inner and outer worlds, gentleness and muscularity. Watch the weather.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 24: Let go of an old ambition and dream a new one. Kick that imagination into high gear and put effort into spiritual practice. Watch for problematic liquids. Our messages can be somewhat confused, so ask clarifying questions to stay on track.

MONDAY, SEPT. 25: Be ready to hit the ground running this morning. Stay focused — it is easy to get distracted by competing demands. Prioritize, make lists, keep on track, and work things out. It may take extra honesty to deal with differing priorities.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 26: It’s easy to get irritated or impatient with other people’s fuzzy thinking, but it may just be a difference in priorities. A sense of accomplishment is helpful. Get serious around dinnertime as the moon conjuncts Saturn, and then unwind.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 27: Communication flows better this morning; attend to practical issues. People may clam up about personal emotional problems. Work toward a dynamic balance to release frustrations.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 28: Nervous energy can leave us a little frayed. Notice power dynamics shift and swirl as Pluto leaves retrograde. Play it safe and avoid direct confrontations today. Be honest but tactful.
