Young’s landscapes of the Southwest are vibrant, richly textured compositions rendered with bright tones of magenta, turquoise, purple, and other tones in an atypical palette. His paintings flow with forms and brush strokes that capture earth and sky, echoing each other and bringing cohesion to the works. They evoke a pastoral sense of place that is at once nostalgic and true to the spirit of the land.
