WE CAN BE EFFICIENT THIS FRIDAY and again at the end of the week, but this weekend is one to take off. Relax, put the hammock up, visit an art fair, wade through the allergies, adjust, and process under a sensitive Pisces moon while mental Mercury approaches a square to dreamy, confusing Neptune.

We may have an attention deficit, though we can multitask like crazy with the sun and Mercury now in voluble Gemini. When we can remember what we came into the room for, we can find it, along with 10 other things. If we keep talking — and we will — we can work our way back around to our original point, conveying a ton of extraneous news and opinions along the way.

Underneath the verbal buzz, Venus and Mars encourage us to love our beloveds on a good day; they loan us protective strength on a bad day. Venus, now in Taurus, infuses cuddly comfort, unless our hackles are up — and then watch heels dig in. Mars, now in domestic, self-protective Cancer, encourages us to garden and nurture when we’re feeling safe, providing defensive genius when we’re not. While these positions are great for deepening family relationships and friendships, it’s not a good time to attack a person or country on their own turf.

Trust is an issue this week: We need people to mean what they say, say what they mean, and stand up for those who need them. We’ll be watching our beloveds and our politicians to see if we can count on them as Venus trines Saturn and Pluto.

FRIDAY, MAY 24: The sun is warm and the moon is in sociable Aquarius: political demonstrations, picnics, and gatherings await. People’s foibles can be endearing this morning. This afternoon, engage in conversation about how to feel more comfortable and connected.

SATURDAY, MAY 25: Wandering continues on this low-key day. Be, rather than do, as the moon sextiles Jupiter and forms no major aspect. Keep the mind and heart open.

SUNDAY, MAY 26: The moon enters sensitizing Pisces and our moods echo. Allergies might bother us, but we can also be aware of the fragrance of a spring flower, the flight of a hummingbird, the beauty in another’s eye. Don’t be subsumed by doubts. Breathe through potential minor conflicts midday, then look for a healing moment and a chance for sensitive honesty.

MONDAY, MAY 27: Keep expectations low on this swampy, sentimental day as the moon conjuncts Neptune. We can feel easily overwhelmed and notice the sand under the saddle or the glitches in our system. Evening brings more enthusiasm.

TUESDAY, MAY 28: Momentum builds as the moon heads into Aries at midday. Our rebellious edge kicks in, along with a desire to set limits or make a statement. Make it count, but don’t generalize. If friend or coworkers are shooting sparks, give them a wide berth for now.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 29: Watch for misconceptions or misunderstandings as an assertive moon in Aries squares defensive Mars in Cancer. Our need to spout off and protect ourselves can run headlong into one another, or just give us a stomachache. Balance independence and connection, reassurance and forthrightness.

THURSDAY, MAY 30: We may need to talk, and it may need to be said, but don’t say too much as Mercury opposes Jupiter. Find a creative solution. A kinder, more imaginative note is encouraged as Venus sextiles imaginative Neptune. A stubborn strength returns tonight as the moon enters earthy Taurus.
