3D SONAR MFDS FROM RAYMARINE
Just announced in Miami, FLIR Systems has two new additions to its M-Series line of marine thermal cameras. The FLIR M100 and M200 have been designed to integrate seamlessly into Raymarine’s brand new Axiom MFDs, bringing a few incredible new features to the table in an integrated package. The Raymarine Axiom MFDs include built-in RealVision 3D sonar.
The two new cameras from FLIR are the company’s smallest pan-and-tilt marine thermal imagers to date, and are both enhanced by an integrated multi-core video processor to handle the highest definition possible. While underway, customers will be able to take advantage of what FLIR calls “intelligent thermal analytics”—dubbed ClearCruise in their parlance—which uses the new advanced thermal imagers to detect and alert right on the MFD when “non-water” objects such as lobster pots, docks, or navigation markers come on scene. Obstacles are identified and highlighted in real time, and bracketed with a noticeable yellow target to alert the user to the situation. That’s the cool above-water stuff.
Then, Raymarine’s Axiom family of MFDs (the family consists of 7-, 9-, and 12-inch all-glass, touchscreen displays), also take advantage of the RealVision 3D sonar to resolve underwater structures, and fish, too, if you’re into that.
“Our latest Raymarine and thermal innovations are game changers for boaters,” said FLIR President and CEO Andy Teich. “With simplified operation, unique RealVision 3D sonar, and our advanced ClearCruise object identification technology, users have the ability to see more, know more, and operate more safely on the water.” www.flir.com/marine
