In every issue of PassageMaker, we celebrate those hearty souls who cast aside the known to explore the mysteries of open water. It usually begins with the first boat—a childhood sailing dinghy, a 13-foot Whaler, or a flats boat for catching trout with grandpa, the dream of bigger cruises and longer adventures on the water stays with you forever.

In our annual Bluewater issue, we tend not only to focus on these intrepid individuals, but also on the products that are built to rigorous standards to help you achieve your dreams of voyages to far-flung lands. In this issue, we hope to show that the taste for exploration is ever-present just as we hope to share the inspiring tales from others who have already conquered the high seas, and who plan to do it again and again.
