We have exciting news; our water leak problem is being fixed this week!

There are many little librarian fingers crossed that it will be done by the time you’re reading this. We will then be waiting for rain to make certain that everything is good to go before proceeding with fixing the inside. The anticipation is building up here waiting for our beautiful library to be all fixed up again.

Recently I have been getting to the library pretty early in the morning to find that we have many patrons that need to come in at the 9 o’clock hour. We are pleased that you guys are so eager to see us and have decided that we will be opening an hour earlier during the week to accommodate those early birds.

This Wednesday we are going to have an educational story hour reviewing library etiquette by reading the books “The Shelf Elf ” and “Dewey the Library Cat.” We will have a few new items for our young readers to view and use from this story hour such as cute and informative signs, and nifty little shelf markers to help them know exactly where the book they are looking at goes back. Also, we finally finished reorganizing and labeling all our children’s books. They are now color coordinated by grade level to help parents stay informed on the book level their children are reading and to also assist the students who take part in AR Testing.

The RTI Reading buddy is going absolutely wonderfully with some of our really great young adults in the community. They have all stepped up to taking reading and helping their buddies seriously and we could not be more proud. I would like to give a big thanks to Beaver Farms and New Life Fellowship Church for do- nating snacks for this entire session. I am so grateful to start the reading buddy program with so much support.

The Friends of the Pea Ridge Community Library will hold their first event on Halloween at the Library. There will be Halloween pictures from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The pictures will be $5 per family or free for Friends of the Pea Ridge Community Library members.
