Robert ‘Bob’ Beck
Robert ‘Bob’ Beck, 86, of Garfield, Ark., died Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark. He was born April 22, 1930, near Hunton, Iowa, the eldest of four children of Walter and Edith (Johnson) Beck.
Bob survived 37 cold winters in Minneapolis, Minn., before bringing his bride to their dream home in Garfield, Ark. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of FOE. Upon retirement, he enjoyed sharing his train set with great-grandchildren creating things from wood and clothespins. He spent evenings enjoying the hummingbirds and feeding “Foxy” off the back deck. Bob always had a joke ready to make you laugh. His love for family and friends will be cherished and missed.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Delores (Jaminet); brothers, Ronald and Larry; and his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Eva Jean, of 56 years; son, Ed (Anne); grandchildren, Zachariah (Vanessa), Yancey (Michelle), Amy and Ashley (Josh); and nine great-grandchildren, Lucy, Franky, Theresa, Owen, Bryce, Noah, Jackson and Sarah.
Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Janu. 22, 2017, at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, prior to the service.
The funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, in Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, with Pastor Gordon Basel officiating.
Burial followed in Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery.
