Teachers hired

New positions were created to meet the continual demands of an ever growing student population at the March School Board meeting.

Positions were approved for both an art and a music teacher for elementary schools as well as a teacher on special assignment and a position for a half-time curriculum specialist and halftime assistant principal.

Board members heard a report from Landon Nobles of the Kendall King Group that he had officially launched Yes for Pea Ridge campaign with a web site, Facebook and about 15 to 20 volunteers on a committee.

In other business, the board:

• Approved transfers of Andrew Ballard from Middle School to Teacher on Assignment; Heather Couch from Special Education secretary to Intermedia­te SPED teacher; and Nathan Claytor, Reed Smith and Crosby Tuck, all from Middle School teacher to High School teacher.

• Hired Courtney Rhuda for Special Education aide and Crysta Wilkerson in food service.

• Accepted the resignatio­ns of Patricia Cagle, Dusty Bratzler, Billy Cotton, Janet Spradling, Donna Wallace, Stephanie Shrader, Aurelian Sennett and Courtney Angelica Mitchell.

• Tabled contracts on Travis Cloud, Antronette Brown, Suzanne Murphy and James Ortiz.

• Approved extending contracts for administra­tors Bonnie Fullmer, Sue Stacey, Kevin Ramey, Aaro Gaffigan, Sarah Stokes, Leslie Moline, Tracy Hager, Barrett Robinson and Charley Clark.

• Approved contract renewals for certified personnel.
