The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History will open Modern Times, a new permanent exhibit exploring the region’s recent history of 1950 to the present, Saturday, Sept. 9.

40th Ozark Quilt Fair

The 40th Ozark Quilt Fair is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Quilters and quilt lovers will display new and antique quilts for show and sale on the museum grounds. Other activities during the fair include musical entertainm­ent and an exhibit of small quilts.

The entry fee is $10 per exhibitor. Cash prize Viewer’s Choice awards will be given for first ($50), second ($35), and third ($15) place winners in both new and antique quilt categories. Entries must be received by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6. Entry forms are available at shilohmuse­um.org, or by calling 750-8165. The Ozark Quilt Fair is sponsored by Arvest Bank.

Candle-Dipping

The Shiloh Museum of

Ozark History will explore the pioneer craft of candledipp­ing from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16.

The program is part of the museum’s Shiloh Saturday series for families.

MEETINGS Sacred Harp Singers

The Northwest Arkansas Sacred Harp Singers will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.
