McGee: ‘Hawks rankings high
Blackhawk softball girls suffered a 5-0 setback to the Gravette Lions in the finals of the 4A-1 District Tournament. The boys lost both games Saturday, getting beaten 11-6 by the Prairie Grove Tigers in the semi-finals before losing a heart breaking 8-7 loss to Huntsville for the thirdplace game.
The boys will have to play the 4A-4 District champion Pottsville, the sixth-state ranked team in the state on May 3 in the first round. The sixth-state ranked Pea Ridge girls will also play May 3, facing the thirdplace 17th-state-ranked Dardanelle Sand Lizards. The games will be played at Lincoln with the first round winners qualifying for the 4A state tournament next week.
