Dennis Dewayne Townsend, 63, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Thursday, May 17, 2018, in his home. He was born Dec.
29, 1954, in
Bentonville, Ark., to James
Alfred Townsend and Wanda
Mae Mattingly Townsend.
He was a heavy equipment operator for APAC of Avoca for 42 years and LLL Gravel in Missouri. He married Nancy Mary Herron April 1980. He loved to fish, hunt deer and mushrooms and collect antiques. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother-in-law, Ron Whittle.
Survivors are his wife of 38 years, Nancy, of the home; two sons, James “Jamie” Townsend (Sarah) and Sam Townsend, all of Pea Ridge; three daughters, Kattie Payne (Jacob) of Gravette, Ark., Angela Mecham-Smith (Cody) of McAlester, Okla., and Brittany Emery (Shane) of Lincoln, Ark.; his father, James Alfred Townsend of Bentonville; one sister, Linda Kay Whittle of Anderson, Mo.; two brothers, Buddy Townsend (Anita) of Gravette and Tommy Townsend (Paula) of Bentonville; six grandchildren, Nelson and Devin Payne, Robert Smith, Oliver Anderson and Ava and Jaxson Townsend.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 18, in the funeral home.
Funeral service was 10 a.m. Saturday, May 19, in Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge.
Burial was in Pace Cemetery in Garfield.
