Candidate community forum slated

A candidate community forum is slated for 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in the community room of the Emergency Services building featuring candidate for mayor Mechel Wall, candidate for city clerk Mike Kelley and City Council member Bob Cottingham, seeking reelection.

According to the flyer, “When it comes down to facts, we all need to make some tough decision for Pea Ridge.

“We can’t say ‘no growth’ and keep spending money like it grows freely on trees. To fund the city the way departments wish, they’ll simply add to the huge debt the city currently has. The City only works for You when operational spending is balanced with debt reduction.

“You get to hire the next team that will decide how to spend your tax dollars. Do you want someone who asks hard questions and looks for answers? Come ask us the hard questions and we’ll give you honest answers.”
