District play set for Harrison

The first 4A-1 District Tournament of the newly retooled conference alignment was scheduled to get underway Monday, Feb. 11, in Harrison.

The fourth-place girls team from the East Division, Shiloh, was scheduled to take on the fifth-place from the West in Gentry. The night cap game was to be the boys fourth-place finisher in the East, Berryville, taking on the fifth-place West team, Gentry.

The winner of the girls’ Shiloh/Gentry game playing third-place West team, Gravette, was scheduled for Tuesday. The Berryville/ Gentry boys’ winner was scheduled to play Tuesday night against the third-place West team Prairie Grove. Also playing was thirdplace from the East Shiloh boys battling fourth-place from the West, Gravette. The other girls’ game was fourth-place from the West, Prairie Grove playing third placefrom the East, Huntsville.

On Wednesday, Feb. 13, the Pea Ridge boys are scheduled to play the Gravette/Shiloh winner at 8:30 p.m. with Farmington’s girls tipping off against the Huntsville/Prairie Grove survivor at 7 p.m. On the girls’ side, second-place from the East Berryville will battle the Gravette/ Shiloh/Gentry survivor at 4 p.m. The second-place team from the East, Harrison, was scheduled to round out the day hosting the Berryville/Gentry/

Prairie Grove survivor at 5:30 p.m.

Boys East Champion Huntsville is scheduled to take on the winner of the Wednesday Pea Ridge game at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, in semi-final action. The other boys’ game will see West champion, Farmington, playing the Harrison game winner at 5:30 p.m.

Girls East Champion Harrison will match up

with the Farmington game winner at 7 p.m. in semifinal action with the West Champ Pea Ridge girls playing the 4 p.m. game against the Berryville game victor.

The finals will be Saturday with the girls’ championship game at 5:30 p.m. and the boys’ game at 7 p.m. The third-place playoff game will be at 3:30 p.m. for the girls and 5 p.m. for the boys.

All semi-finalists will participate in the North Region Championships next week in Morrilton. The Region is composed of the top four teams from the 4A-1 District against the top four teams from the 4A-4 District.

The first round survivors of the eight-team tournament will claim berths in the State 4A Tournament the following week in Magnolia.

The Pea Ridge Lady Blackhawks are slated to play at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, against the winner of the Berryville game which is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon in 4A-1 Conference Tournament in Harrison. Berryville is scheduled to play the winner of the Gravette game against the winner of the Shiloh/Gentry game.
