Lurline Joy Davenport

Lurline Joy Davenport, 91, of Pea Ridge, died Wednesday, July 24, 2019, in her home. She was born Feb. 15, 1928, in Seguin, Texas, to Brackston Hoggett and Belle Tyler Hoggett.

She was a homemaker and moved to Pea Ridge in 1998 to make her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Davenport; one brother; and two sisters.

Survivors are a daughter, Jalene Dowell of Pea Ridge; two grandchild­ren, Jill Belden and husband James of Garfield and Caen Dowell and wife Christy of Nome, Alaska; and five great-grandchild­ren.

Graveside services will be held at the Bandera Cemetery in Bandera, Texas.

Local arrangemen­ts were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Vaughn Michael Faulk

Vaughn Michael Faulk, 70, of Rogers, died July 27, 2019, in his home.

He worked for Walmart and Rogers Townhouse in maintenanc­e.

There was no visitation.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, in Liberty Cemetery in Garfield.

Arrangemen­ts were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

William Eugene ‘Buddy’ ‘Gene’ Lovell

William Eugene “Buddy” “Gene” Lovell, 90, of Bentonvill­e died July 27, 2019, in Rogers. He was born May 20, 1929, in Perry, Okla., to William Paul and Lottie Lorene Melugin Lovell.

He was an auto mechanic and a farmer. He was a member of the West Walnut Street Church of Christ in Rogers.

Survivors are his wife Melvina Corine Langford Lovell of the home; two sons, Jerry Lovell and wife Sharon of Avoca and Tony Max Lovell and wife Lugene of Bentonvill­e; siblings, Lorene Kinsey of Fairbanks, Alaska, Billy Ira Lovell of Maysville, Jimmy Lovell of Muldrow, Okla., and Syondra Holmes of Gentry; eight grandchild­ren; and three great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, in Benton County Funeral Home, Rogers.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday,

July 31, 2019, in Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers.

Interment was in the Benton County Memorial Gardens.

Shirley Ann Pittillo Markey

Shirley Ann Pittillo Markey, 80, of Garfield died Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonvill­e. She was born Aug. 26, 1938, in Rogers, to Eura T. Pittillo and Opal Mae Slinkard Pittillo.

She was a lifetime resident of Benton County and retired from Southweste­rn Bell Telephone Co. after 30 years in 1990. She was the secretary-treasurer for Martin Cemetery in Larue and served on the Ruddick Cemetery Board in Garfield. She loved being with her family, fishing, and watching Razorback football and basketball.

She was a member of Freedom Freewill Baptist Church in Garfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 41 years, Bill Markey, in 2000.

Survivors are her son, William Harry Robert Markey Jr. and wife Angie of Garfield; and two grandsons, Wyatt and Jack Markey of Garfield.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, in the funeral home.

Service is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, in Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge.

Burial will be in Martin Cemetery-Larue.

Vernon Lee ‘Mac’ McClain

Vernon Lee “Mac” McClain, 86, of Garfield, lovingly known as “Mac” to friends and family, died Tuesday,

July 23, 2019, in Mercy Hospital, Rogers. He was born Sept. 14, 1932, to Orville McClain and Elizabeth Mesplay McClain of St. Louis, Mo.

He met Dorothy and they married shortly after. He then joined the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. After the U.S. Army, he attended the Police Academy where he graduated and became chief of police in Lowell for many years.

Later in life, he retired, and enjoyed woodworkin­g, building birdhouses and garden furniture, and spending time in his shop. He was a skilled woodworker taking his wares to flea markets.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years, Dorothy McClain; his only sibling, Gerald McClain; and his most favorite dog, C.

Survivors are his sons, Gerald “Bub” McClain of the home, and Rick McClain and wife, Nan and their children; daughters, Marilyn Donal and her daughter, Sherry Smedley and her son, Barbara Pike and her daughter, and Tim McClain and wife, Trecia, and their children; 10 grandchild­ren; 15 greatgrand­children; and his little dog, Romeo of the home.

Visitation was from 1 p.m. Monday, July 29, to service time.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2019, in Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services with Dave Harmon officiatin­g.

A family burial will be at a later date at Jane Cemetery in Jane, Mo., next to his loving wife, Dorothy.

Jerry Monroe Sheridan

Jerry Monroe Sheridan, 86, of Garfield, died Saturday, July 20,

2019, in his residence. He was born on Aug. 6, 1932, in Warrensbur­g, Mo., to Paul Monroe

Sheridan and Martha (Roberts) Sheridan.

He was a lifelong railroad man having worked for Katy Railroad and later Union Pacific for his entire profession­al career. Jerry had anything but a quiet retirement as he was constantly on the move. Besides his numerous busy projects, he served multiple terms as Justice of the Peace in Benton County.

One duty as Justice of the Peace that Mr. Sheridan took particular pride in was presiding over marriage procession­s, including that of his own stepson.

He was actively involved with the Northeast Benton County Volunteer Fire Department (NEBCO), where he was everything from a volunteer fireman to an administra­tion consultant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Monroe Sheridan and Martha (Roberts) Sheridan; children, Patricia Sheridan Durdin and James Monroe Sheridan; and brothers, Paul Robert Sheridan and Wallace Gene Sheridan.

Survivors are his wife, Aileen Margaret Sheridan; daughter, Nancy Sheridan Haight; stepchildr­en, Angela Lynn Powell and Matthew Elhanan Powell; brother, Thomas Mac Sheridan; sister, Dorothy Ann Osborne; six grandchild­ren; and eight greatgrand­children.

Visitation was at 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, in Boundless Grace Baptist Church, Rogers.

The funeral service was at 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2019, in Boundless Grace Baptist Church of Rogers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boundless Grace Baptist Church.

Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.

Claudy Wayne Terry

Claudy Wayne Terry, 78, of Pea Ridge, died Wednesday, July 24, 2019, in Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonvill­e. He was born April 28, 1941, in Paris, to Lester Terry and Dicie Lumpkin Terry.

He moved to the area in 1972 to make his home.

He was a cabinet maker, enjoyed woodworkin­g, fishing, camping with his family and hunting. He was a loving husband, father and grandfathe­r and was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Terry whom he married May 24, 1976; son, Michael Boles; daughter, Robin Howell; a grandson, Brett Boles; brothers, Albert Terry, Harold and Jimmy Don Terry; and three sisters, Linda Sue, Donna and Amarath Terry.

Survivors are three sons, Brad Roach and wife Julie of Garfield, Charles Boles and wife Kimberly of Grain Valley, Mo., and Jeff Terry of Pea Ridge; a brother, Jerry Terry and wife Carolyn of Greenbrier; a sister, Shirley Ralston of Pea Ridge; six grandchild­ren; and seven great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation was from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday,

July 27, in Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge before the service.

A graveside service was at 12 p.m. Saturday, July 27, in Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield.
