Welcome Nikoya Mills to staff
In May of this year, we had the pleasure of hiring our newest employee and part-time library clerk, Nikoya Mills.
Mills, a current resident of Bella Vista, has been in the area for 21 years, a considerable portion of that right here in our very own community of Pea Ridge. She attributes this love for northwest Arkansas to the natural environments that we strive to maintain for the use of our children’s futures. Also, she admires that the arts have really exploded around here as well. Having taken many art classes in college she admits to her strong passion for all things creative. She reveals that she is currently into needle crafting as well as paper and mixed media crafting.
Along with her husband and teenage daughter, Mills spends most of her free time caring for the various foster kittens that are in and out of their home. One of her greatest personal accomplishments is the woman’s book club that she established and has run for over the past two years.
Mills says she thoroughly enjoys her part-time position with the library, as it allows her the freedom to continue her education in obtaining a psychology major.
Education being another passion for her, she attributes it to being a considerable reason the Pea Ridge Community Library is positively serving its community. Free access to gain education via classes, activities and public computers are just a few of the ways those of all ages can enjoy this local amenity. Admitting to always having wanted to work in a library, she says she’s excited to help the growth of our local library in whatever way she can. She is still very much in the training process of her employment but takes any steps possible to ensure the library is on the right track to thriving and staying a vital part of our town.
The next time you are in the library please welcome her to our library family!
