Royce ‘Alan’ Bradrick
Royce “Alan” Bradrick, 67, died Tuesday, May 5, 2020. He was born Oct. 4, 1952, to Royce and Ruby Bradrick in St. Mary’s hospital in Rogers.
He enjoyed riding horses, raising cattle, working in his garden and hunting out west.
He was a firefighter for Rogers Fire Department from 1984-2008. He served as shift commander for the “B” platoon, was active in the NWA Hazardous Materials Team and was interim fire chief from July 2007 to December 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Royce and Ruby Bradrick.
Survivors are two daughters, Amber (Clint) Bowen of Garfield, and Autumn (Tim) Busey of Pea Ridge; four grandchildren, Lexie (Peyton) Rose, Tate Busey, Brandt Bowen and Mac Bowen; one great-grandson, Rhett Rose; a sister, Susan Douglas of Cassville, Mo.; and significant other, Holly Holiman of Pea Ridge.
The family will have a memorial visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, in the home of Amber and Clint Bowen, 17202 Scott Cemetery Road in Garfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Labre Indian School, an organization Alan supported for years.
James R. Clark
James R. Clark, 92, of Springfield, Mo., died May 2, 2020, in his residence. He was born July 19, 1927, in Alco, to William and Amie Clark.
He married the love of his life, Lynette, on Dec. 12, 1947. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He also worked as a maintenance worker with the Springfield Public Schools until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Anita and Richard Green of Ozark, Mo.; two granddaughters and their husbands, Stephanie and Brian Campbell of Rogers, and Kayla and Alex Miller of Republic, Mo.; and three great-grandchildren, Marlee Campbell, Hayes Clark Campbell and Everly Miller.
Graveside funeral services with military honors was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2020, in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
A visitation was held from noon to 1:45 p.m. Thursday, May 7, in Klingner Cope at White Chapel Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Timbo Cemetery Fund or the Wounded Warriors.
Arrangements were under the direction of Klingner Cope at White Chapel Funeral Home.
Gertrude Layher
Gertrude Layher, 89, of Pea Ridge, died May 3, 2020, in her home. She was born April 22, 1931, in Wein, Austria.
She married Jakob Layher Aug. 13, 1955. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed her roses, gardening and reading.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Glen Bookout.
Survivors are her husband of 64 years, Jakob Layher of the home; three daughters, Rita Bean (David) of Bella Vista, Sonya Bookout of Pea Ridge and Lore Layher of Centerton; six grandchildren, Chris Bean (Jennifer), Justin Ford, Jason Bean (Ashley), Lindsey Bobo (Kelsey), Brandon Layher and Kyleigh Robles (Benji); and 13 great-grandchildren.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Mary Ellen Smith
Mary Ellen Smith, 79, of Garfield, died May 11, 2020, in her home. She was born Nov. 21, 1940, in Pitcher, Okla., to LeRoy Armstrong and Maudean Shelly Armstrong.
She married Norman Smith June 12, 1971, in Las
Vegas. She was a truck driver and retired from
FM Corp. in
Rogers. She loved going to the casino, taking cruises and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman Smith; a son, Bill Corley; and two siblings.
Survivors are six children, James Corley of Tyler, Texas, Kirby Corley of Mead, Okla., Danny Corley (Sandra) of Kingston, Okla., Rita Corley of Yantis, Texas, Enola Taylor of Texarkana, and Judy Bray of Pea Ridge; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
There is no visitation scheduled.
A graveside service is set for 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, in Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield.
Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
