Appoinment only: Back to School Bash
As with many events this year, the Pea Ridge Back to School Bash will be handled differently thanks to state-mandated social distancing restrictions in response to the covid-19 pandemic.
The Back to School Bash will be held, by appointments only, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, and from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at First Baptist Church.
“It is going to look a little different this year,” B.J. Dye, board member for Bright Futures. “We are going to run it by appointment only, so you’ll need to use the calendar link below to sign up. Select a 5-minute appointment slot to come in to pick up school supplies.”
School supplies will be prepackaged by grade level, so students just need to pick out a backpack and grab a package of grade appropriate supplies, Dye said, adding that the clothing showroom will be open to select school clothes.
“We will be following all safety and social distancing guidelines — masks required, hand sanitizer, limiting the number of people in the building. We will not be serving breakfast or providing haircuts this year in an effort to keep the process more streamlined and keep everyone safe.”
Dye said persons needing
school supplies may clock on a google calendar link — https://calendar.google. com/calendar/selfsched?s stoken=UUFoSkQxdTB6S U1YfGRlZmF1b HR 8 ODdj MWQ3Yzg1O WU 4 MD U 3 Y WRiMDdjZjdmZ DZ jO WU 3 Mjc&fbc lid= I wAR 3 LG VI a aK2Iutq0G8HPuVQ4NR4h 2fyJZUWxqwxQlNq1pxLgRRkIZb_as4o.
They should then, clock on the next available date of Aug. 1 or Aug. 2 and select a time. She said there is a link to a form allowing parents to enter information and register.
“You must fill out the form in order to attend,” she said.
Persons must stay in their cars until their allotted time and students must be present with their parents or caregivers.
