Shirley Ann Harris

Shirley Ann Harris, 75, died Sept. 11, 2020. She was born Feb. 9, 1945, to John T. and Gladys Ogden Pomoransky.

After graduation from Fayettevil­le High School, she began working at Washington Regional Medical Center as a nurse’s aide on the surgical orthopedic floor. She was transferre­d to Central Supply Services where she was a supervisor for six years and an instrument technician in 1980. She received a letter of commendati­on and a special gift from the WRMC Board of Governors and Administra­tion for her years of service. She retired from WRMC in 1981 after 20 years of service.

She and her husband Roger became Emergency Medical Technician­s and operated the Pea Ridge Ambulance Service for several years. She loved baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles and playing on the ham radio. The most exciting four minutes of her life was when she contacted the Russian MIR Space Station through her ham radio and home computer.

Most important of all was her love and devotion to God. She was a member of the Pea Ridge Baptist Church. She was a blessing to all who knew her and she leaves her beautiful legacy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Farl Hutton; maternal grandparen­ts, Pleas and Ida Ogden; and paternal grandparen­ts, Michael and Francis Patykewich Pomoransky.

Survivors are her husband of 45 years, Roger Harris of Pea Ridge; sister, Sharon Peoples (Ken) of Lowell; brothers, John Pomoransky (Susan) of Fayettevil­le and Harold Hutton (Jan) of Van Buren; nieces, Malia Stratton (C.J.) of Bentonvill­e, Lisa Allan (Brian) of Elkins, Laura Walden (Kevin) of Kingston, Kim Craig, Markita Den-Herder, Amber Podvin, Dana Paech, Tammy Blakemore, Debbie Harris, Sherry Stephens and Jamie Myer; nephews, Bryan Peoples (Ashley) of Cave Springs, Jacob Hutton of Van Buren, and Eddie Rush.

She will truly be missed and those who knew her will miss her loving and caring devotion that she gave to others.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Arrangemen­ts were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

John Thomas Eugene Sisco

John Thomas Eugene Sisco, 87, of Garfield, died Sept. 14, 2020, in Mercy Hospital in Rogers. He was born Sept. 3, 1933, in Gobbler, to Clovis Sisco and Martha Ann Blackstone Sisco.

He married Jessie Mae Spears Jan. 19, 1973, and worked for the Arkansas Highway Department for many years. He enjoyed camping, working on vintage cars and was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Rogers; and siblings, Donald Sisco, Bonnie Davis, Rosie Walker, Susie Walker and Dealia Parsons.

Survivors are his wife, Jessie Sisco of the home; children, Connie Allen of Dogpatch, Cerena Pruitt and husband, James of Garfield, and Rick Rogers and wife Jamie of Garfield; and six grandchild­ren.

There is no visitation scheduled.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in Liberty Cemetery in Garfield.

Arrangemen­ts are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Clarence Dean Spence

Clarence Dean Spence, 85, of Seligman, Mo., died Sept. 8, 2020, in the VA Hospital in Fayettevil­le. He was born Dec. 10, 1934, in Elk City, Okla., to Clarence Herbert Spence and Addie Reba Lindsey Spence.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked at Hart’s Grocery in Eureka Springs as a meat cutter. He carried papers for the DemocratGa­zette, loved fishing and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Gateway.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn Spence; two brothers, Kenneth and David Spence; and two sisters, Shirley Nielson and Karen Perry.

Survivors are his children, Charlie Spence and wife Missy of Springdale, Sherry Gundel and husband Barry of Washburn, Mo., and Herb O’Haver and wife Manuela of White Horse, Canada; two siblings, George Spence and wife Helen of Las Vegas, Nev.; 10 grandchild­ren; and two great-grandchild­ren. There is no visitation. Graveside service is set for 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, in Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield.
