Raymond Andrew Atkins OBITUARIES

Raymond Andrew Atkins, 83, of Garfield, died in Circle of Life in Bentonvill­e on Nov. 30, 2020, following a stroke. He was born Sept. 24, 1937, to Minnie Beatrice and Charles Leonard Atkins in Tulsa, Okla.

He married Sandra Dauber Sept. 13, 1961. He entered the U.S. Army on May 21, 1962, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He and Sandra had two daughters Judy and Norma. He worked at Waterman Industries for 20 plus years as a machinist. Sandra passed in 1985.

Ray moved to Arkansas in 1987 in his first retirement, settling in Russellvil­le before moving to northwest Arkansas. He went to work at Superior Industries before retiring in 1999 for a second time. In 2000, he married his wife Charlotte and welcomed stepchildr­en, James and Brandy into his life. Upon marriage he went back to work to provide for his family, working until 2011 when he again retired from Superior for the third and final time at the age of 74.

In retirement he enjoyed a strong hot cup of coffee, a good smoke, and a cold beer whether it was fishing, porch sitting or taking care of his critters. He cared deeply for his family and community.

He was preceded in death by all 12 siblings and a granddaugh­ter, Evelyn Staton.

Survivors are his wife Charlotte, of the home; daughters Judy Bray and Norma Hern (Jim); stepchildr­en, James Crews (Jason) and Brandy Reeder (Michael); grandchild­ren, Joseph Bullard, Raymond Hern (Candance) and William Hern; and greatgrand­children, Jason Staton, Rayden, Kayden and Hank Hern.

Memorial services were at 2 pm, Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, in the Episcopal Church of Pea Ridge in Pea Ridge. Covid-19 guidelines were in place for the service.

Ray was a true lover of live plants and the family asked that live plants be sent to the service in honor of Ray.

Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of Pea Ridge.

His final resting place will be in the Fayettevil­le National Cemetery at a later date.

Billy Oakley Barton

Billy Oakley Barton, 85, of Garfield died Dec. 7, 2020, in his home. He was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Grant City, Mo., to Harold Barton and Clara Balsinger Barton.

He was a self-employed bricklayer and loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed riding mules, watching “Gunsmoke,” “Bonanza,” “The Virginian” and “The Big Valley.”

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Garfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Thelma Berniece Barton in March of 2020.

Survivors are his children, Randy Barton (Dovie) of Exeter, Mo., Brenda Bowen (Donnie) of Garfield and Doug Barton (Colleen) of Dallas, Texas; bonus children, Barbara Swanson and her late husband Johnny of Batesville, Patricia Martin (Stan) of Yukon, Okla., Karen Bryant of Rogers, and Mike Webb (Shelly) of Pea Ridge; a sister, Dorothy Williams (Stanley) of Garfield; 17 grandchild­ren; and 11 greatgrand­children.

A memorial service was held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, in First Baptist Church in Garfield.

Arrangemen­ts were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Billy Ray Clark, Sr.

Billy Ray Clark, Sr. , 80, of Garfield, died Dec. 6, 2020, in his home. He was born Aug. 14, 1940, in Avoca, to Ray Harold Clark and Irene May Hayes Clark.

He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Pea Ridge National Military Park after 30 years. He enjoyed woodworkin­g, fishing and being with his family. He was the caretaker for Liberty Cemetery in Garfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Kathy Clark in 2011; his step-father, Wilmer Lynch; and a brother, Bobby Clark.

Survivors are his wife, Carol Mae Clark of Harrison; children, Billy Clark, Jr. (Carla) of Garfield, Stephen Clark of Claremore, Okla., and Christy Still of Harrison; a step-daughter, Kathy Gould of Harrison; 17 grandchild­ren; and 11 greatgrand­children.

No services are planned at this time.

Betty Lorraine Rodgers

Betty Lorraine Rodgers, 66, of Seligman, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, in her home. She was born May 17, 1954, in Dayton, Ohio, to James Samuel Jones and Geneva Mitchell West Jones.

She was a Goodwill store manager. She enjoyed word searches and her grandchild­ren. She was very giving and feisty, a loving, caring wife who loved taking care of people.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Kelsey Jones.

Survivors are her husband of 27 years, Clyde Rodgers of the home; four children, Brenten Jones (Tina) of Dayton, Ohio, Maggie Lane (Sonny) of Lawrencebu­rg, Ind., and Amanda Everhart and Sammy Miniard, both of Seligman; siblings, Susie Alford of Seligman and Jimmy Jones of Florida; grandchild­ren, Katie Cutberth, Kayden Miniard, Stephanie Hass, Courtney Hass, Sarah Abdon, Summer Lane, Alex Miniard; and seven greatgrand­children.

A graveside service was at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, in Antioch Cemetery.

Arrangemen­ts were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Kathy McCubbin

Kathy McCubbin, 68, of Huntsville, died Dec. 7, 2020, in Fayettevil­le. She was born Sept. 15, 1952, in Kansas City, Kan.

Survivors are her husband, Johnny Foster; children, Mike George, Doug and Jason Edens and Bryan Byler; sister, Joyce Munnerlyn; 10 grandchild­ren; and 11 great-grandchild­ren.

Graveside service was at 12 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, in Twelve Corners Cemetery, Pea Ridge.

Arrangemen­ts were by Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers.

Leona J. Webb

Leona J. Webb, 71, of Bentonvill­e, died Dec. 7, 2020, in Circle of Life Hospice, Bentonvill­e. She was born on March 10, 1949, in Berryville, to Harold and Jerry Ray.

She graduated from Cassville High School in 1966. She married Mike Webb on Jan. 18, 1969, in Bentonvill­e, and made it their home for over 51 years.

Leona served the Lord tirelessly, with all of her being, while working full time for the USDA and raising three sons. This entailed working on several church committees, including feeding and nurturing families in need, the offering committee as well as teaching Sunday school. She had a tender and compassion­ate heart for people who did not know the Lord, the less fortunate benevolent, and a deep discernmen­t for children. Leona often identified other’s needs, possessed a servant’s heart, and treated everyone with respect and dignity.

Her passions involved being a loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r, and friend. She loved Scripture and her daily devotional, gospel music, and carpooling to Bible studies with friends. She also enjoyed summer camping and boating trips to the lake, working in the yard, but consistent­ly any activity that involved her family. Leona’s talents were many, but decorating her home was monumental during Christmas, her most cherished time of the year. Multiple Christmas trees could be seen from the street, as well as lights, ribbons bows and figurines always perfectly placed throughout the house. She always made life special and will be greatly missed.

Survivors are her husband Mike; sons, Todd Webb of Fayettevil­le, Aaron and Shannon Webb of Pea Ridge, and Jim and Kellie Webb of Bentonvill­e; grandchild­ren, Hunter, Cole, Macey, Finley, Luke and Bennett; a granddaugh­ter due in April; sisters, Loretta and Wayne Writer and Leta and Darrel Williams; mother, Jerry Ray; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Cross Church Compassion Center.

The family would like to celebrate her life, safely, with all family and friends. Recognizin­g the national covid-19 pandemic, the visitation and funeral will require facial masks, staff regulated ADH requiremen­ts and social distancing.

Visitation was from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 13 in CallisonLo­ugh Funeral Home, 605 W. Central in Bentonvill­e.

The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Dec. 14 in Cross Church Pinnacle Hills, 2448 Pinnacle Hills Pkwy. in Rogers.
