In 2009, American Trench co-owner Jacob Hurwitz left London with an off-white belted trench in tow and begged this question to his friend David Neill: How can there not be a domestic maker of fashion-forward outerwear? A year and one Kickstarter campaign later, Wynnewood’s American Trench was born. “We didn’t want to make a stuff y Inspector Gadget-type coat,” says Hurwitz about their design inspiration. The province of their wares is paramount, with everything made in the U. S., including their popular line of knit hats and socks.
