Warriors win at buzzer

-

Andre Iguodala hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer, David Lee scored 23 points and the Golden State Warriors won their eighth game in a row with a 101-100 victory Friday night against the host Atlanta Hawks.

Stephen Curry added 22 points with nine assists and Klay Thompson 21 for Golden State, which recovered from a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter to get back in the game and extend its road winning streak to five in a row.

“Every part of that play worked because everybody ran like they were going to get the ball,” Iguodala said. “The defense had to stay honest and pick their poison.”

Pero Antic finished with a career-high 16 points and Shelvin Mack had 15 for the Hawks.

Iguodala was inbounding the ball with 2.8 seconds remaining near the bench and had 6-foot11 center Antic defending him when he passed the ball over to the sharp-shooting Curry near the halfcourt line.

Mack was guarding Curry closely enough that Iguodala moved a few feet inside and was open when Antic moved up to help Mack close space on Curry. Iguodala took Curry’s bounce pass, squared up and hit the winning shot as Jeff Teague made a an attempt to disrupt the shot.

Notes

The two-game suspension of Denver Nuggets guard Andre Miller was rescinded by the team, though he will remain away from the club until Monday under a newly issued personal leave. Miller originally was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team for verbally confronting coach Brian Shaw in the waning minutes of a loss Wednesday to the Philadelphia 76ers. Miller reportedly was upset over what became the first “did not play-coach’s decision” of his 15-year career.
