Hampton graduate struck by lightning, is in hospital

A Hampton High School graduate was in critical but stable condition after being struck by lightning Wednesday at the University of Dayton in Ohio, officials said Thursday.

Sean B. Ferguson, 23, was struck about 7:15 p.m. in Parking Lot C across from the Fitness and Recreation Complex, Bill Fischer, vice president for student development, said in a statement.

Mr. Ferguson, a senior majoring in marketing at Dayton, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital because of serious injuries, Mr. Fischer said.
