Bar to close temporarily after fatal shooting

-

The Hill District bar where two people were shot Tuesday night — one fatally — has agreed to temporarily close, officials said Wednesday.

The owners of the Cornfield Bar on Webster Avenue met Wednesday with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s office and agreed to close until another meeting can be scheduled, likely next week, DA spokesman Mike Manko said.

Pittsburgh police were called to the bar for a shooting about 9 p.m. Tuesday after one of the victims argued with an unidentified man and shots went off, striking the wounded men.

One of the wounded men, Trula Dobbins, 35, of the Hill District, died at UPMC Mercy on Tuesday night with wounds to the chest and torso.

Another man, a 37-yearold whose name has not been released, was shot in the elbow and thigh.

Homicide investigators are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call them at 412-3237161. Callers can remain anonymous.
