Parkway West closures continue this weekend

Both sides of the Parkway West will be closed at times this weekend as a $72.8 million reconstruc­tion project continues, PennDOT said.

The outbound side will close from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday from the Green Tree-Crafton exit to Interstate 79. Outbound traffic will be restricted to one lane from Banksville Road to Green Tree from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday. Outbound traffic will be restricted to one lane between Rosslyn Farms and I-79 from 6 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

The inbound side will close from I-79 to the Parkway Center on-ramp from 10 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Monday.

The schedule is subject to change depending on weather and other factors, PennDOT said.

Reward doubles to $500 in case of dead dogs

The reward has doubled to $500 for informatio­n leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsibl­e for dumping as many as 20 dead dogs over a hillside in Hopewell, according to the Beaver County Humane Society.

Additional donations to the Humane Investigat­ion Fund are welcome, executive director Susan Salyards said. The reward started with a $250 donation.

Police found between 15 and 20 dead dogs over a hillside between Woodlawn Boulevard and the Ohio River on Monday.
