While the calendar says spring, the fashion industry already is focused on fall.

Find out what trends will be on the rise once the temperatures start to drop at Readyto-Wear Collections Fall/ Winter Trend Report preview event Thursday, organized by the Fashion Group International of Pittsburgh provisional chapter. Representatives from ModCloth, Jen Rocket Sewing/Design Studio and Boutique la Passerelle will lead a discussion on trend forecasting, based on collections seen on the runways in New York, London, Milan and Paris. There also will be a chance to learn about FGI Pittsburgh membership, and those who apply to join the group at the event will receive a $5 discount on admission.

FGI is a nonprofit that seeks to unite and promote fashion communities across the globe. Pittsburgh was approved to establish a provisional chapter in 2014 by the group’s New York City headquarters. To become a fullfledged chapter, the city needs to demonstrate that it can generate enough interest and support from the community and hold a series of successful fashion-focused events in 2015.

It’s Thursday at Macy’s, Downtown. Networking is 66:30 p.m., with the discussion from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Admission is $15 for members, $20 for general admission. Students pay $10. Cash only. RSVP by Monday at https://aipstudent.wufoo.com/forms/fallwinter-2015-trendreport/. Information: contact program director Vanessa Fellers at vanessafellers4@gmail.com or visit www.fgi.org.
