#LetThemEat Cake: The Midwife Center for Birth and Women’s Health welcomed more than 400 guests to indulge their sweet tooth at the 10th anniversary cake tasting and contest at the Pittsburgh Opera headquarters in the Strip District on Saturday night.

“We are so happy to see such a great turnout to help support and advocate health care for women,” said cochair Kathleen Gaines. Added cochair Kelsey Halling as she looked around at the magnificent cakes (all created on a Hollywood theme), “Every year the designs get more and more amazing, and we are so excited to see that this is our biggest turnout yet!” One cake was inspired by “The Wizard of Oz,” complete with a “twister, a twister!” Another referenced classic Disney films, with Tinkerbell delicately balancing on the very top. On the other side of the room, partygoers enjoyed tasting (big!) bites of cake with names like “Crazy, Stupid Love,” a chocolate cake with salted caramel filling and buttery shortbread.

“My favorite is the “Lemon Paparazzi,” said Victoria Bradley Morris, who tasted a lemon poppyseed cake with fluffy almond frosting. “Jailhouse Rock” paid homage to Elvis, and was (naturally) filled with honey, bananas and peanut butter. Check out Natalie’s Instagram: NatalieBenci to see more cakes (like “Roman Holiday”).

#SEEN: Christine Haas, Kelsey Bartman, Alan Obuzor, Lisa Stauffer, Rachel Dingfelder, Lindsay Flinn, Diana Hull, Brad Quartuccio, Allegheny County Councilman Tom Baker and wife Erin, Jason and Brigid Tigano, Michael Dorosh and Christy Allison, and Latasha Jones.
