Style Week Pittsburgh announces its 2016 lineup
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
The countdown is on to the fourth annual Style Week Pittsburgh, which will take place Aug. 18-21 at venues across the city.
According to a tentative lineup of events, it will kick off at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Oakland with a Gatsby-themed affair featuring vintage fashions, live music and dancing. The next night, the annual Style Awards will celebrate some of Pittsburgh’s influencers in fashion and the arts.
On Aug. 20, “Makers & Music” night will be an interactive nightlife experience with local musicians, DJs and artisans. Venues for this party and the Style Awards have not been determined. Festivities will wrap on a Sunday with a brunch event to be held at SixTHreeFouR art gallery (634 N. Sheridan Ave., East Liberty).
This will be the first year that Style Week Pittsburgh — which was founded by Wadria Taylor to promote and unite local entrepreneurs and artisans — won’t be back to back with Pittsburgh Fashion Week, which typically took place in September. In April, Pittsburgh Fashion Week founder Miyoshi Anderson announced that fashion week was canceled this year with hopes of returning in 2017.
