Rivers Club Reinvention

-

When and where: Wednesday night at the Rivers Club, Downtown.

#ReimaginedRiversClub: Gasps of surprise and praise could be heard from partygoers as they stepped off of the elevator and into the Rivers Club inside One Oxford Center. The space had undergone a transformation over the past six months to reflect changes occurring in other parts of the city. “This is a big deal. We wanted a change in the way the club functioned and looked to reflect the members. It’s bright and modern, but continues to be the inclusive meeting place it has always been,” said board chair Dotti Bechtol, who attended with husband John.

A muted modern palette allowed for pops of color to shine bright. Of particular interest were the individual meeting rooms with glass doors and unexpected wallpaper that reflected the Carnegie Museum of Art’s influence on the project. “We were thrilled to be a part of the reinvention, and to put our images out in a way that was inviting. We worked with the Warhol Museum and the Natural History Museum to create one-of-a-kind wallpaper that reflects the art found in those spaces,” said Jo Ellen Parker, president and CEO of the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh.

#SEEN: Mayor Bill Peduto, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, Jack Kimbell, Rod Doss, Peggy Harris, Andy Masich, Amy Scanlon, Charles and Sophia Carrier, Tanisha Jackson and Anthony Kim.
