Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writers Bill Brink and Stephen J. Nesbitt recap the performanc­es of the Pirates Top 10 prospects — according to Baseball America — over the seven-day period from Wednesday of last week through Tuesday:

1 Tyler Glasnow … P, Pirates … Made one brutal start with the Pirates He allowed two runs in three innings with three walks and five stolen bases allowed. He then went on the disabled list (shoulder).

2 Austin Meadows … OF, Indianapol­is … Continues to recover from a strained right hamstring. He is taking batting practice, running and throwing, but has not played since June 30.

3 Josh Bell … OF, Indianapol­is … Went 4 for 19, but four walks boosted his weekly OBP to .348. He also played right field Tuesday. Manager Clint Hurdle said he would need to hear glowing reports about Bell’s defense before playing him at first base ahead of John Jaso.

4 Jameson Taillon … P, Pirates … Allowed four runs and eight hits, including two home runs, in six innings Sunday vs. Philadelph­ia. He did not allow a walk for his third consecutiv­e start. 5 Harold Ramirez … OF, Altoona … Went went 9 for 25 (.360) with a double and a triple. He went 3 for 3 Friday, 2 for 3 Saturday with a double and a triple. He is hitting .313 for the season.

6 Reese McGuire … C, Altoona … Went 4 for 5 Tuesday with three runs and a double, part of a 7-for-23 week. He did not walk and struck out five times, but still has four more walks than strikeouts. 7 Cole Tucker … SS, Bradenton … Played in only two games, but went 4 for 8 with two doubles. He is hitting .230/.308/.309 since his promotion to Bradenton.

8 Kevin Newman … SS, Altoona … Had eight hits in 27 at-bats (.297) and is hitting .326 at Altoona with a .379 OBP. He had three consecutiv­e multi-hit games, including going 4 for 4 Saturday with two runs and two RBIs.

9 Ke’Bryan Hayes … 3B, West Virginia … Went on the disabled list because of an upper back injury. Head athletic trainer Todd Tomczyk said he has resumed baseball activities.

10 Elias Diaz … C, Indianapol­is … Went 3 for 7 in two games with Indianapol­is before joining the Pirates when Eric Fryer went on the paternity list. He made one start for the Pirates Sunday against the Phillies and went 0 for 4.
