A Beaver County man has been arrested after two teenage girls accused him of repeatedly raping them and forcing them to have sex with other men on multiple occasions over the past two years.

Ralph Richard Ruprecht, 50, of Freedom, a girls basketball coach in Ambridge, was charged by Pittsburgh police Friday with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, indecent assault and other offenses. Pittsburgh police filed the charges because the assaults occurred in Mr. Ruprecht’s Strip District apartment, according to a police affidavit.

The girls told investigators they started talking with Mr. Ruprecht when they were 15 years old and eventually built a relationship with him.

They met Mr. Ruprecht at his Strip District apartment to have sex with him, police said, but most times other men would come to the apartment and have sex with them. The girls said they didn’t want to have sex with the other men, but Mr. Ruprecht forced them to, according to the affidavit.

One of the girls said Mr. Ruprecht threatened to tell her parents if she did not have sex with the other men, the affidavit said. The other girl said that Mr. Ruprecht often punched her and choked her to gain her compliance.

The girls told investigators they were forced into sex with as many as eight men at a time.

Mr. Ruprecht would engage in violent sex acts with the girls himself, according to the affidavit. The girls told investigators Mr. Ruprecht left them with bruised and broken ribs.

The girls said that the incidents occurred more than 20 times in the past two years.

Mr. Ruprecht faces a preliminary hearing Sept. 9.
