The Senator John Heinz History Center named Diane P. Holder, president and CEO at UPMC Health Plan and executive vice president at UPMC, chair of the History Center’s board of trustees. Additional officers were named to the board of trustees: Beverlynn Elliott, vice chair; Laura Ellsworth, vice chair; Alvaro Garcia-Tunon, treasurer; and Paul O’Neill Jr., secretary.

CBRE Group, Inc. announced that Christophe­r W. Koch has joined its Pittsburgh Brokerage Services group as vice president, advisory and transactio­n services team.

Awards and Honors

State Rep. Harry Readshaw is a 2016 recipient of the Sahli Service Award from the Pennsylvan­ia Municipal Authoritie­s Associatio­n. The award is in recognitio­n Mr. Readshaw’s 20 years of service on the board of the Allegheny County Sanitary Authority. Mr. Readshaw represents Legislativ­e District 36 in the Pennsylvan­ia House of Representa­tives.

The Allegheny Conference announced that Rosamaria Cristello is the inaugural recipient of the Barbara McNees Spirit of Athena Award Scholarshi­p. Ms. Cristello, director of the Latino Family Center, will attend, tuition-free, the 2016-2017 session of the Carnegie Mellon Leadership and Negotiatio­n Academy for Women.

Adam Shear was named an editor of the Associatio­n for Jewish Studies’ AJS Review, published by Cambridge University Press. Mr. Shear is the director of the Jewish Studies Program and an associate professor in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. His co-editor is Carol Bakhos, a professor in UCLA’s Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures.

Jean Yang, who is joining the Carnegie Mellon University Computer Science Department as an assistant professor this fall, was named by MIT Technology Review to its annual list of Innovators Under 35. Ms. Yang works to develop tools, languages and processes to help programmer­s create the software that they intended.
