Rush-hour delays expected on T

-

Commuters using the T to travel into Pittsburgh this morning should expect rush-hour delays as crews work to repair a broken rail inside the Mount Washington transit tunnel.

Port Authority spokesman Adam Brandolph said the small break, which was discovered Monday evening, has forced outbound light-rail service to be rerouted via Arlington Avenue.

Outbound stops at Station Square have been suspended until repairs are complete. Riders heading south from Station Square must travel inbound to the First Avenue Station, then catch an outbound train from there.

Work will continue into the afternoon.

Outbound buses are being detoured through the Wabash Tunnel, and inbound light-rail vehicles will remain on their regular route.

A shuttle will operate between Station Square and the First Avenue Station to accommodate riders traveling from Station Square to points south.
