District plans to move Versailles students, hire superinten­dent

“Thank you for your dedication and hard work,” Ms. Skezas told the school board and staff, getting emotional as she read her retirement letter at the meeting. “I look forward to continuing many projects in progress,” she said.

“When I leave, I will carry with me a seemingly never-ending collection of memories,” she said.

“We are going to miss you,” board president Joe Lopretto said.

Mr. Bauman, also a McKeesport Area High School graduate, has been assistant superinten­dent since December 2013. He has spent his entire career in the district, starting as a high school special education teacher in 1980 and moving on to assistant high school principal and then high school principal. He also was principal at Founders Hall Middle School and curriculum coordinato­r.

“Please know I will forever support the McKeesport Area School District in my every word and action,” Mr. Bauman said at the meeting.

The district also announced that an anti-bullying safety and tip line has been set up to allow students to report bullying anonymousl­y. The number is 412-948-1335 and is listed on the district’s website, www.mckasd.net. Students can also fill out an anonymous form on the website or on the district’s mobile app.
