Raptors defeat Chicago

Fight breaks out in third quarter

-

DeMar DeRozan had 42 points, and the Toronto Raptors snapped an 11game losing streak against the Chicago Bulls by rallying for a wild 122120 overtime win.

DeRozan shot 17 of 38 from the floor and also collected eight assists.

Cory Joseph had 19 points for the Raptors, and Serge Ibaka scored 16 before he was ejected for his role in a memorable fight with Robin Lopez during the third quarter.

Bulls center Lopez and Toronto forward Ibaka were both ejected for “fighting fouls” after punches were exchanged late in the third quarter.

Tensions between the two players boiled over when Bulls guard Jimmy Butler hit a three-pointer as Lopez and Ibaka battled underneath the basket for a potential rebound.

Play briefly stopped once the ball went in, but then chaos broke out when Ibaka appeared to throw an elbow at Lopez's back.

The Bulls forward went after Ibaka and knocked the ball out of his hands. Ibaka pushed Lopez, who responded with a big punch which narrowly missed.

Ibaka fired back with a shot of his own, glancing off Lopez's face.

By that point numerous other players on the court got in between the two big men and separated them.

Lopez and Ibaka were ejected following a long review period.
