Board OKs assistant to superintendent and other hires
The McKeesport Area school board has named Tia Wanzo as assistant to the superintendent and hired four other administrators.
Ms. Wanzo, associate principal of Founder’s Hall Middle School, will replace Harry Bauman, who will retire at the end of the school year. Her annual salary will be $103,539.
Also at its April 26 meeting, the board unanimously approved hiring Matthew Gergely, city administrator for McKeesport, as assistant to the business manager/ grants and outside funding for the district.
He will replace James Humanic, who is retiring at the end of the school year. Mr. Gergely’s starting salary will be $85,000. He was awarded a fiveyear contract, from July 1 through June 30, 2022.
As she voted for Mr. Gergely, board vice president Mary Jane Keller, a retired McKeesport Area teacher, said, “I certainly have a great deal of pride and confidence in my fifth-grade student.”
Ashlee Boyle, assistant principal at Founder’s Hall, was named associate principal at Founder’s Hall at a salary of $78,698.
Matthew Mols, a guidance counselor at the high school, was named assistant principal at Founder’s Hall Middle School at a salary of $63,938.
Brie Adams, assistant principal of online learning/grants and outside funding in the district, was named assistant principal of cyber school/ McKeesport Area Technology Center director at a salary of $65,216.
