Mylan faces lawsuit over price of generic tablets for asthma

Mylan, which has faced accusation­s of price-gouging over sales of its EpiPen, is being accused of conspiring to raise the price of generic albuterol sulfate tablets used by people with asthma. A lawsuit filed by the Self-Insured Schools of California this week claims Mylan worked with Sun Pharmaceut­ical Industries to increase prices. From December 2012 to December 2013, “The average retail price of the 2 mg pills increased over 1,000 percent for Mylan (from $0.17 to $5.55) and Sun (from $0.30 to $4.42) … such massive price increases are extremely atypical and cannot be explained by traditiona­l market forces,” the suit said.

Workers at Charleroi facility of Gardner Denver get stock grants

Gardner Denver Holdings marked its first day of trading as a public company by distributi­ng more than $100 million in deferred stock grants to nearly 6,000 of the company’s employees. Recipients include about 120 employees at the company’s Charleroi facility. Each employee not already part of Gardner Denver’s stock plan received a grant worth 40 percent of their annual base salary. The New York company makes compressor­s, pumps and related equipment for customers in the industrial, energy and medical markets.

Ram pickup air bags can fail in rollover; 1 death reported
