Bundchen leaks that Brady was concussed

-

Gisele Bundchen, the wife of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, said in an interview that Brady “had a concussion last year” and hinted that he had suffered previous concussions.

Bundchen made the comments during the “CBS This Morning show” Wednesday in answer to a question posed by Charlie Rose. “Are you trying to get him to retire?” Rose asked.

“Football, like he had a concussion last year, I mean he has concussions pretty much every — you know, we don’t talk about it but he does have concussions.

“I don’t really think it’s a healthy thing for your body to go through like, through that kind of aggression like, all the time. That cannot be healthy for you, right?” she said.

Brady, who turns 40 on Aug. 3 and has said he wants to play well into his 40s, was not listed on any injury report last year with a concussion. Brady hasn’t been listed with a concussion dating as far back as 2003.

Neither Brady nor the Patriots have commented on Bundchen’s remarks.

Philadelphia signed LeGarrette Blount to a one-year contract, giving the team a bruising back to complement their group of smaller, speedy runners. Blount led the NFL with 18 touchdowns rushing in 2016 while helping the Patriots win the Super Bowl. He ran for 1,161 yards, averaging 3.6 per carry.

Prosecutors dismissed a misdemeanor battery complaint against Cleveland’s sixth-round pick Caleb Brantley, a defensive tackle from Florida, citing insufficient evidence. “It is apparent that there is no reliable evidence upon which an arrest or prosecution would be warranted or legally justified,” the office of State Attorney William Cervone said.

Jaguars

Running back Leonard Fournette signed his rookie contract with Jacksonville. The fourth overall pick in last month’s NFL draft signed a four-year deal that, according to the NFL’s rookie salary system, is expected to be worth more than $27 million and include an $18 million signing bonus. Fournette ran for 3,830 yards in three years with the LSU Tigers. He set or tied 23 different school records in his college career.
