VINE REWIND A MUSICAL BLOCK PARTY
Pittsburgh Winery takes to the street this weekend with the second annual Vine Rewind: A Penn Avenue Picnic/Music Festival, featuring some of the city’s biggest bands on two stages at 2800 Penn Ave.
It runs Saturday and Sunday, with Sunday’s events running in conjunction with OpenStreetsPGH and beginning at noon after early morning yoga.
Presented by Tim Gaber, who owns the Winery and is a member of the Buzz Poets, it features more than 20 bands, spanning generations from the Billy Price Band to ’90s groups such as the Vibro Kings to relative newcomers like Bastard Bearded Irishmen.
One of the names that jumps out is New Invisible Joy, an alt-rock band that had a good run here between 2000 and 2004, before calling it a day and then coming back for various reunions.
Along with the star-studded lineup of music, there will be drinks, food trucks, vendors and artists.
It’s all free. SATURDAY

ETERNAL BOY AND BILLBOARD
Pittsburgh pop-punk band Eternal Boy, which played the Vans Warped Tour the same day it released new “Awkward Phase,” had a good showing on the Billboard charts.
“Awkward Phase” was No. 19 on Heatseekers (No. 1 Mid-Atlantic), No. 9 on Vinyl Albums and No. 32 on Independent Albums.
The band will host the Four Chord Festival (with The Starting Line, State Champs, Punchline and many more) at Xtaza in the Strip on Sept. 10 and is planning to tour Europe in the fall and then record an EP in November.
