Darvish heads for L.A. as Dodgers eye Series run

“It’s an honor to be wanted by the team,” Darvish said from Texas through a translator.

“It was in the last 15 minutes,” Dodgers general manager Farhan Zaidi said, explaining how the trade got finalized. “Certainly for a deal of this magnitude, that’s cutting it pretty close.”

Darvish, Watson and Cingrani will cost the Dodgers about $12.2 million for the rest of the season — $6.24 million in salary and the rest in luxury tax.

Yankees

New York acquired starting pitcher Sonny Gray from Oakland for right-hander James Kaprielian, a former first-round pick recovering from Tommy John surgery; Jorge Mateo, a top prospect who plays shortstop and the outfield; and Dustin Fowler, an outfielder who made his major league debut in June.

Cubs

Chicago got a big lift when they acquired reliever Justin Wilson and catcher Alex Avila in a trade with Detroit. The addition of Wilson gives manager Joe Maddon another late-inning option in front of All-Star closer Wade Davis.

Brewers

Milwaukee reacquired right-hander Jeremy Jeffress, a year after sending their former closer and firstround draft pick to Texas. The Rangers got Class AA pitcher Tayler Scott.

Nationals

Washington added another excellent late-inning reliever by acquiring BrandonKin­tzler from the Twins. Minnesota gets 24-year-old left-handed pitching prospect Tyler Watson.

Indians

Cleveland added another arm by acquiring reliever Joe Smith from Toronto for two minor leaguers. Smith is 3-0 with a 3.28 ERA in 38 appearance­s this season. He returns to Cleveland having pitched for the Indians from 2009-13.

Red Sox

Boston acquired reliever Addison Reed from the Mets for three 22-year-old righthande­d pitching prospects: Jamie Callahan, Gerson Bautista and Stephen Nogosek. “He makes us deeper in our bullpen,” said Dave Dombrowski, Boston’s president of baseball operations.

Orioles

Baltimore acquired former No. 1 overall pick Tim Beckham from the Rays in exchange for a minor league right-hander Tobias Myers.
